Jillian Bloom

Jillian Annie Bloom, cellist of the Aiana String Quartet, began her career on the violin alongside her brother when she was two years old. Not long after, she fell in love with the sound of the cello and decided to make a permanent switch. A native of Hollywood, Fl, Ms. Bloom has been featured as a soloist with many of South Florida's finest symphony orchestras, including a double concerto feature with her brother in front of the New World Symphony at age eight. She received scholarships and awards from numerous statewide foundations such as the Miami Music Club and the Florida Youth Orchestra.

Soon after moving to New York City to attend the Manhattan School of Music, Jillian was asked to premier Thomas Sleeper's Concerto for Cello and Orchestra at Carnegie Hall in March 2008. She was then given the opportunity to work closely with and perform for composer John Corigliano that same month. Other performance highlights include appearances on MTV and McArthur Milk commercials. Jillian has studied with David Cole, David Geber, and Alan Stepansky and plays on a 2000 John Terry Cello.

Jillian is an ambitious rock climber and in most of her free time can be found at places like Joshua Tree National Park, Smith Rock State park, or the Shawangunk Mountains in New York.
